Ahmed Mohammed, the 23-year old Lebanese kidnapped in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, last Monday has been set free by his captors.
Sources said Mohammed regained his freedom Sunday almost a week after gunmen seized him in front of Tawouq King restaurant located at 35, Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja.
Family members confirmed his release but declined to say whether any ransom was paid before they secured his freedom.
Six gunmen in an ash colour Toyota car had abducted Mohammed at about 10 p.m. last Monday in front of the restaurant where he works as manager.
A relative of Mohammed who owns the restaurant, Mohammed Wahab, said after the incident: “I was told that four of the gunmen jumped down from the car while two remained in the car and ordered him into their car and sped off.”
