Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state has described security as the key to Nigeria’s development.

Akpabio spoke in Uyo when members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors visited him.

The editors were in Uyo for the 8th All Nigeria Editors’ Conference which opened on Wednesday with the theme: “The Nigerian Editor and National Security”.

The governor said that the nation’s development had been retarded by insurgencies of Boko Haram and challenged the editors to use the conference to proffer solutions to the security challenges.

“Editors are people who think; so I give you thought-provoking issues, use this conference to contribute your own ideas to national security,” he said.
