All hands are to the pump as the Lagos ABA engages Repton Boys Club of London in an International Amateur Boxing Tournament billed to hold from 20-22 September, in Lagos.
The annual tourney will begin on 20 September with a red carpet dinner/cabaret at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The grand finale, which will be thrown open to the public, will hold on 22 September at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere. In a chat with Boxing In Focus, the Chairman of the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame, LBHF, Wale Edun, said that this edition will set off great fireworks.
“We intend to package a great show which will be staged at the National Stadium. We are excited we will be playing host to Repton Boys Club again,” said Edun. He added.
“The international event has already become a tradition as all boxing lovers in Nigeria are looking forward to it. Repton will be coming to Nigeria for the third time and we are working round the clock in order to improve on the previous editions.” Prior to the competition proper, however, the visiting coaches will take their indigenious counterparts on a coaching course which will hold from 14-18 September.
