Special church service for Nigeria

An Interdenominational Church Service to celebrate Nigeria’s 52nd independence anniversary is scheduled to take place on Sunday 30 September.

In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, the Independence Planning Committee said the service would take place at the National Christian Centre in Abuja at 3 p.m.

The statement, signed on behalf of the Committee by the Minister of Interior, Alhaji Abba Moro, gave the theme of the service as: “The weapons of our warfare are not canal”.

It said: “The Planning Committee and the Christian Association of Nigeria invite all Christian faithful across the country, particularly those in the Federal Capital Territory and environs, to the 52nd Independence Interdenominational Church Service.

“All worshippers are to be seated by 2.30 p.m.,” the statement said.
