Boko Haram: Nigerian-Lebanese deny fleeing Kano

Mr Tahir Faddalah, the Chairman, Lebanese Community in Kano, has denied media reports that  members of the community were fleeing Kano State as a result of insecurity.

Faddalah, who spoke to reporters on Sunday in Kano, described the media reports, which alleged that they were fleeing because of Boko Haram threat,  as fabrication and lies.

‘’The stories have no iota of truth and were only fabricated to cause confusion among people who are rather indigenous than settlers’’According to him, 90 per cent of Lebanese in the state have naturalised. ‘

’We are indigenes, we were born in Kano, we have no other place than Kano. We own our houses and businesses which are all in this great state’’‘’So tell me, where can we go? We  cannot leave Kano because of threat”.
