Golden Eaglets’ whiz kid, Chidera Ezeh has declared that the team will be out to consolidate on their 4-1 victory over Niger in the first leg of the U-17 African Junior Championship qualifier when both sides meet in the second leg tie tomorrow at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

“Our team are very good and we can be better. We want Nigerians to keep faith with us and we won’t disappoint them.

“We would approach the game against Niger on Saturday with all seriousness and I would be glad if given the chance to play,” he said.

Ezeh, who boasted that he will score in the crucial match, said that Nigeria will beat Niger again. Ezeh scored his side’s first ever hat-trick in a recent friendly against the Junior Wasps of Rwanda. He upped his goals haul to four with a solitary strike in the 4-1 win against Niger two weeks ago in Niamey.

The Eaglets’ forward said he still relishes his goals and the rare opportunity of playing for Nigeria at this level.

“I think all goals I have scored are important but I’ll pick the goal against Niger in Niamey as the best as it was in a competitive match.

“I’ve been lucky to be here and I want to make good use of every opportunity given to me,” he said.
