Volume, turnover up at NSE

The volume of shares traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) appreciated by 60 per cent on Tuesday, with turnover also growing by 176.21million shares.

Investors exchanged 472.01 million shares worth N3.8billion in 4,978 deals.

This was against the 295.80 million shares valued at N2.1 billion traded in 5,180 deals on Monday.

The All- Share Index appreciated by N108.61 points or 0.42 per cent to close at 25,947.60 against 25,838.99 recorded on Monday.

Also the market capitalisation, which opened at N8.227 trillion, appreciated by N34 billion or 0.41 per cent to close at N8.261 trillion

NewGold led the gainers chart with a gain of N4 to close at N2,721 per unit.

Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N3.72 to close at N119.98 per share, while Okomuoil grew by N1.76 to close at N37.01 per share.

Lafarge Wapco appreciated by N1.07 to close at N56, while UACN rose by 80k to close at N43.80 per share.

On the other hand, Nigerian Beweries recorded the highest price loss of N2.45 to close at N135.95 per share.

FlourMills trailed with 95k to close at N69 per share, while UAC-Property dropped by 63k to close at N12.09 per share.

Unilever depreciated by 60k to close at N38, while UBN lost 46k to close at N8.74 per share.
