European champions Chelsea begin their League Cup campaign tonight at Stamford Bridge.

They are up against Championship side Wolves. New signing Victor Moses is yet to start for Chelsea since his summer move from Wigan. Reports says he could make a start in the crucial match.

After adding Oscar and Eden Hazard to his ranks, many were surprised Manager Di Matteo pushed ahead with a £9m deal to sign Moses from Wigan Athletic. The Nigeria international has impressed since joining Chelsea with two excellent substitute performances, and he is expected to start in tonight’s Capital One Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

If Di Matteo had had his way, Moses would have been playing under his command a lot sooner. “He’s an exciting player that I tried very hard to sign, not just this year but previously as well, years ago,” said the Italian, who had spells at West Bromwich Albion and MK Dons before moving to Stamford Bridge. Marko Marin, Lucas Piazon and Cesar Azpilicueta could also make their first appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, Wolves could name an unchanged team after beating Peterborough away from home on Saturday. Razak Boukhari will push Slawomir Peszko for his place on the wing.
