Former Vice Chancellor of the Crescent University Abeokuta, Professor Sherifdeen Tella has been reinstated by the authorities of the Ogun state-owned Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye.

The Professor of Economics, who was on sabbatical at the private University, was sacked by former administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel in 2010, after he publicly condemned the ex-governor’s plan to raise a N100bn bond

His stand also drew the ire of the private university owners, as he equally had his services terminated.

But, the Governing Council in a letter dated 25 September, 2012 and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mrs. ‘Lara Osunsanya described the sack as “unfairly decided.”

Guidelines for the selection of Principal Officers and issue of disengaged staff.

“Having noted that the decision to terminate your appointment on 27 December 2010 was unfairly decided, it directed that the letter letter terminating your appointment be withdrawn and that your appointment be reinstated into the University with effect from 13 September, 2012.”

In his comment, Professor Tella thanked the University for the gesture and also acknowledged the support and prayers of the concerned
public and the media.

According to Tella: ” I give thanks to Allah. I thank everybody including the journalists, you really stood by me during my travail with the past government,God will be with you all”.

On the social network, one commentator said: “Prof. Tella has now been vindicated,where is Gbenga Daniel now?, he believed he is forever, but only God is forever. Power is transient and it belongs to God. Professsor, carry go”.
