Nigeria’s first Olympic gold medalist, Chioma Ajunwa Okpara, has insisted that she delivered triplets recently several years after she got married, contrary to insinuations that she adopted the kids.

Chioma, who spoke with P.M.NEWS on phone Tuesday, expressed her unhappiness about a story published by P.M.NEWS on Friday, 21 September titled ‘Controversy Over Chioma Ajunwa’s Triplets’ regarding the issue.

She said the report was embarrassing, adding that she declined to grant our reporter an interview days after the birth of the triplets because she spent a little bit of time in the hospital to recover fully.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Meiran, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, wondered why P.M.NEWS had to go to town with such a report when she had not granted any interview.

She promised to listen to our correspondent only after P.M.NEWS has corrected the wrong impression created by the report which she also described as an attempt to assassinate her character.
