BA Celebrates With Nigeria, Charges Lower Fare To London

This is certainly the best of times for air travellers in Nigeria. Only a few months after British Airways rolled out special discounts in its World Traveller (economy) class customers, it has announced yet another incredible discount offer for its World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus, and Club World (business) class customers.

Known as “The Independence Offer” in commemoration of Nigeria’s 52 years of independence, it affords British Airways Nigerian customers the opportunity to make fantastic savings while travelling on these cabins to London and select United States and Canadian cities.

The fare offers are only valid for booking from September 29 to October 13.

Explaining the offer, Country Manager, British Airways/Iberia in Nigeria, Mr. Kola Olayinka said the offer which is valid for flights from Lagos or Abuja means the airline’s customers can now travel from Abuja to London with just $302 in World Traveller or $902 in World Traveller Plus, and Club World (business class) with just $2,052.

For those travelling from Lagos to London, the fare starts from $352 for World Traveller, $952 for World Traveller Plus, and $2,252 for Club World.

BA customers who want to travel to major cities in the US and Canada can now buy World Traveller tickets with as low as $502 and $552 for Abuja and Lagos respectively. For those travelling on the World Traveller plus, the fares start from $1,402 and $1,452 for Abuja and Lagos respectively.

Club World fares on these routes start from as low as $3,052 for Abuja and $3,252 for Lagos.

The US destinations included in the offer, he disclosed, are New York, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, Tampa, Florida, Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. The Canadian destinations include Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.

All fares, he added, are exclusive of taxes and surcharges, with outbound travel scheduled between October 1 and December 15.

He advised customers to check with their IATA certified travel agents, or the British Airways website, ba.com for more details of the special offer.

Olayinka said the new offer was British Airways way of celebrating the nation’s 52nd independence anniversary with its customers, and Nigerians in general.

He restated the commitment of the airline to offering more value for money for its Nigerian customers.

“Nigeria is a great country with a lot of potential and we are delighted at our role of offering a solid transportation for investors who may want to come to this country,’’ he said.

“At British Airways, we are always looking for opportunities to delight our Nigerian customers, and the independence anniversary presents us with a unique one. We made a promise of giving our Nigerian customers much more for less. So, we will continue to do this from time to time because at British Airways, the customer is at the heart of our business,” he said.
