A Lagos-based businessman (name withheld) narrowly escaped being killed as one of the robbers who trailed him on a motorcycle was shot dead this morning.
P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that the robbers who rode on a motorcycle made frantic efforts to snatch some money from the man who had gone to a new generation bank on Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria to deposit it.
An eyewitness told P.M.NEWS that on suspicion that the man was being trailed, a mobile policeman attached to the bank opened fired on the robbers, killing one of them while the other one fled the scene.
According to an unconfirmed report, the corpse of the robbers has been taken to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Ikeja, Lagos to ascertain the identity of the robber and his fleeing accomplice.
