The 2012 edition of Felabration began today at Freedom Park, Lagos Island, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
The programme kicked off with schools debate comprising Vivian Fouler Memorial College, Ikeja, Sanya Senior Grammar School, Dowen College, Lagos, Bellina College, Akoka, Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, Army Children Senior High School, Ikeja Cantonment, Lagos, Saint Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, Adrao International School, Victoria Island, Auntie Ayo Girls Comprehensive School, Lagos and Vetland Senior Grammar School, Agege, Lagos. The students are debating on the topic: “Social Media in Africa, Good or Evil”.
Five judges, namely Nike De-Souza, Makin Soyinka, Mr. Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Group Senior Editor, TheNEWS/P.M.NEWS, Adebola Williams and Fela’s daughter, Yeni Kut presided over the debate. The winner of the competition will go home with one Samsung tablet and the second and third runners up will go home with a good phone each, while all the participating schools will go with a flat screen television set each. As at press time, the event was ongoing. It was moderated by Teju BabyFace.
Meanwhile, Felabration continues on Monday.
