D’banj Condemns Aluu, Mubi Killings
Music star, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj has described the killings of four University of Port Harcourt undergraduates —Lloyd, Ugo, Tekena and Chidiaka—in Aluu community, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as “yet another unspeakable tragedy.”
D’banj, a United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace, in a message made available to P.M.NEWS this morning, bemoaned the gruesome murder of the four young men, “brimming with great dreams, unfulfilled aspirations and a promising future”, on an allegation of stealing mobile phones and laptops.
“To express the depth of my pain and shock at their murder is impossible. And understanding how events could have degenerated to this level is truthfully beyond me,” said D’banj.
The artiste called for a justice to be served in the light of these recent events, including the heartless killings of another 40 students in Mubi, Adamawa State.
“We are not a nation of barbarians. We can follow due processes and procedures. We must fight together as one nation to ensure that justice as a whole is served, and process, is duly followed always,” he reiterated.
D’banj expressed his deep condolences to the families of these young men killed both in Aluu and Mubi.
