Organizers of Ikeja Coaches Football League have disclosed that lack of sponsorship delayed them from fixing a date for the Super  Four League.

Fourteen clubs took part in the league format which played recently at the Cocoa football pitch, Ikeja and Teachers Training College playground, and only two clubs in each group qualified for the Super Four league .

The four clubs that will feature in Super Four League are Future Pro Soccer Academy, Santos FC, LSDPC FC and Black Knight FC.

Chairman Organising Committee, Fatayi Adejumo told GSG that they have written letters to some corporate bodies and individuals for assistance but none of them have showed an interest in the round leather game.

“Our Super Four League is in danger now because we are yet to get sponsors for the tournament. We need at least N500,000 to organise the tourney and presently, we have not seen any financial support from anywhere,” he lamented.

Adejumo appealed to the four teams to remain calm as the organizers are working round the clock to hold the tourney before the year runs out. He also urged the other corporate bodies and sports philanthropists in Agege and its environs to come to their aid.

Adejumo said the championship was designed to help the coaches to discover talents among the grassroots players in Agege. According to him, the tourney is being organised to bring the talented football players to limelight.
