Fela’s Museum Opens
The museum in memory of the late Afrobeat king, Olufela Anikulapo-Kuti, will be formally opened on Monday, 15 October, 2012 P.M.NEWSEntertainment learnt.
Fela’s daughter and the convener of Felabration, Yeni Anikulapo Kuti, said the museum financed by the Governor Babatunde Fashola-led Lagos state government, will be opened as part of the 2012 edition of Felabration.
Yeni said that apart from Nigerian music stars, artistes from different parts of the world will be part of the celebration.
To this end, members of the committee are said to be strategising heads together to make the event a very successful one.
Fela’s daughter told P.M.NEWSEntertainment that unlike the previous edition, Afro beat King, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti and Seun will be performing at Felabration which commenced on Tuesday with secondary schools debate at Freedom Park, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
Some of the foreign stars expected at the event, according to Yeni, are Danew, Suckuchie, Zakes Bantu and Rocky Dawuni.
