New soul music act, Oris Fadekemi Ann, also called OFA, is set to storm the Nigerian music scene with her debut album titled No Lies.

Speaking with P.M.NEWSEntertainment, the singer who started music while at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State as a member of a gospel group, Potter’s House, stated that her passion for music grew after her graduation.

“After school we formed another group alongside three of my mates in school, but we were not as committed as we were while in school. So I  did back up for several artistes before I decided to concentrate on my own career. I just thought if I had given the kind of commitment I gave while I was in those bands on my own, I would be a better artiste. So I decided to take the bull by the horn and formed my own band.”

On her perception of hip hop, she said: “I appreciate Hip Hop and I like those who sing it. I must tell you that I am not in music because I want to make money, but the love I have for it. I sing from my heart and very emotional. That’s the reason I call my genre of music New Soul. It is a kind of music that comes from the soul and it’s deeper than Hip Hop.”

On 18 November, 2012, the Osun State-born musician will formally present her 11-track debut album. Tracks in the album include Ara, Iba, Love Like This, featuring Ruffman Man, Yonke Dance featuring Zee-World, Ireti, Can Touch This, O de, Respect Woman, Mr. Drogba and others.
