In Pictures: Dame Jonathan’s Return to Nigeria

Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of Nigeria’s president returned to Nigeria from Germany Wednesday to the warm embrace of a large crowd at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and denied reports that she travelled abroad to receive treatment for a terminal illness.

Patience said: “God is wonderful and He has done a miracle in my life. I read in the media where they said I was in the hospital.

“God Almighty knows I have never been to that hospital, I don’t even know the hospital they mentioned. I have to explain what God has done for me; I do not have any terminal illness.

“I didn’t have cosmetic surgery more or less tummy tuck. My husband loves me as I am and I’m pleased with how God created me, I cannot add to myself.

“I want to thank my husband, my staff, Nigerian women, the men on the streets for standing by me during my time of trial.

“God has given me a second chance to come back and work with our women, children and the less privileged and I’m pleased to be back,’’ she said.
