In a bid to have an intensive training programme ahead of the African Women’s Championship, AWC, in Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria’s Super Falcons will today depart the shores of the country to Ghana for a week of camping.
Though the Falcons were expected to have left yesterday, P.M.NEWS gathered that the delay was caused by the team’s flight to Ghana.
The Falcons are expected to face stiff opposition in their quest to win the trophy this time around as they are drawn against Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia in Group B.
The AWC is billed to start on 28 October with the Nigerian ladies beginning their title defence the following day against Cameroon.
The Kadiri Ikhana led team, who are the defending champions of the bi-annual tourney, would be targeting their seventh title after winning six of the last seven editions.
