Kimono Goes On Tour

Self-styled rub-a-dub master, Ras Kimono, whose latest effort, Matter of Time, is still enjoying airplay, returned from a playing tour of Ghana last Monday.

While in Ghana,  the artiste performed in Accra and Aburi, where he visited Bob Marley’s widow, Rita. Before visiting Rita at her 35-acre home, Kimono and his team, which included Ayodele Dfaizer Olowo-Ake (manager) and Efe Okedi (Personal Assistant) were conducted round the Tuff Gong Studios, which was gutted by fire.

Prior to his return to Nigeria, Kimono thrilled a large audience of business captains and diplomats at a party to welcome Ambassador Onafowokan, the new Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana.

On his return from Ghana, he began rehearsal for his next tour, on which he will play in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, where the United Nations on the Eight African Development Forum (ADF-V111) will hold between 23-25 October. He is expected to compose and perform the theme song of the Forum, which aims at raising awareness on the importance of natural resources to Africa’s development. The artiste will leave Nigeria this week and return at the end of the month.
