Akeredolu loses polling booth, Mimiko clears Akure
Results trickling in from Ondo state show that the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu narrowly lost his Ijebu Owo ward to the incumbent, Olusegun Mimiko by 139-144 votes.
However, from the result trends, Akeredolu will win his Owo town overall.
Result trends also indicated that the ACN candidate has the upper hand in the Akoko division of the state, from early results reaching P.M.NEWS
The situation is different in the capital of Akure and Ondo town, the hometown of the incumbent, Olusegun Mimiko.
Results declared so far in polling booths in both towns gave the Labour candidate an overwhelming advantage. According to our reporter, Mimiko has won these towns with a wide margin.
The PDP candidate, Olusola Oke is reported to have done very well in the Okitipupa axis, beating both the Labour and ACN candidates.
Early reports indicated that the ACN candidate is trailing Oke here, while Mimiko is third.
Collated results are now being awaited from the collating centres.
