As the National Sports Festival draws closer, the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Kolawole Musbau, has expressed confidence in boxers from the state to dominate the boxing event at the games.

Musbau, a boxing enthusiast, told P.M.Sports yesterday at Ajeromi Ifelodun Boxing Championship that boxers from Lagos State will rake in more gold medals than they won at the Garden City Games.

“Lagos State is the haven for Nigerian boxers and I expect our boxers to exert their superiority over boxers from other states at the games. I know that our boys will surely perform better than they did at the Garden City Games,” said Musbau.

“They have promised to win at least 10 gold medals at the games but I know that they can win more than that considering their high level of preparation. In fact, I expect them to double the 7 gold medals that they won in Port Harcourt.”
