Super Falcons/ Black Queens Friendly cancelled

Wednesday’s friendly match between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and the Black Queens of Ghana billed for Ghana has been called off P.M.News has gathered.
The Falcons are in Ghana intensifying preparations for the 8th edition of the African Women Championship, AWC which kicks off weekend in Equatorial Guinea but Media Officer of the team, Chisom Mbonu said the friendly was called off because the Black Queens are not in the country.
Mbonu further disclosed that the tune-up against the Black Queens is just one of the numerous friendly matches being used to prepare the Falcons for their title defense.
According to Mbonu “The Falcons will not be playing the Black Queens of Ghana because they are currently out of town; that notwithstanding the team is still preparing well, by Wednesday they will be playing their second tune-up match game”.
She added “We’ll continue to practice on our finishing. We’ll play another friendly match before we leave and I believe we’ll get things right on time for the tournament”.
The Super Falcons will play another friendly match on Wednesday, 24 October before heading to Equatorial Guinea.
The team will kick off their title defence against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on 29 October in Bata.
Meanwhile, the technical crew of the team led by ex-international, Kadiri Ikhana said there are no injury worries as all the players are fired up for the task of making a successful title defense.
