Monarch wants Nigeria to learn from Saudi Arabia

A Nigerian monarch, The Aragbiji of Iragbiji, from the State of Osun, Oba Abdul Rashid Olatunde Olabunmi has urged Nigerian leaders to copy the way the Saudi Arabian leaders are running their country, making facilities to work.

The Traditional Ruler who is one of the 1070 Pilgrims from the State of Osun that performed this year’s hajj spoke to newsmen in Mina after the completion of the Hajj rituals at the weekend.

Oba Olabunmi was full of praises for the Saudi authorities in the way they have put a lot of infrastructure in place in their country. In contrast, he deplored the ”bad and uncomfortable” living standard in Nigeria.

So impressed was Oba Olabunmi by what he saw in Saudi that he has recommended that all Nigerian government Officials that do come to Saudi Arabia for one thing or the other should learn from the Saudis and take the lessons home for implementation to improve the lives of Nigerians.

“Nigeria Government officials that come here often should pick from the good things Saudi Arabia is doing, emulate them and make sure that Nigeria is woken up from her slumber because we are in slumber. Look at Electricity here, I have been here for more than two weeks, there has never been power blink and this is the situation in every village, every City and everywhere in Saudi Arabia.

“Infact, if there is any power failure in Saudi Arabia, millions of people will die within a spate of a minute because so many people are underground, many are in big tunnels and lives would waste in some Hotels of six to seven floors in both underground and in the surface which are equipped with lifts, escalators and
air-conditioning,” the Aragbiji said

The monarch also lamented the poor supply of water in Nigeria.

“We need to learn about water supply from Saudi Arabia who supply adequate drinkable water to her people without having any river.

“They get their water directly from the sea which is several hundreds of kilometres away from the City and there is no breakdown in water supply”
