NBB of C Backs Hall Of Fame Boxing Show

President of the Nigeria Boxing Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, Godwin Kanu, has thrown his weight behind the Monthly Saturday Boxing Show, saying that the event is a breeding ground for professional boxing in Nigeria.

Speaking at the 35th edition of the show on Saturday staged at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, the NBB of C boss said that with what he saw at the Hall of Fame Show, he believes the future of professional boxing in Nigeria is bright.

“The monthly boxing show is a very good idea if we consider the positive effects that it has on professional boxing in the country. It is a talent hunt of sorts and a breeding gound for professional boxing in Nigeria,” said Kanu.

“The NBB of C likes to support event like these because we know that these boxers we soon become professional boxers. And we hope to get excellent boxers who will bring honours to the country in the near future.

“The major concern of the NBB of C is not how amateur boxing is run in the country. But our main concern is how these young and talented pugilists become professional boxers in there chosen careers,” he said.
