Former Super Falcons Coach, Paul Hamilton says no team can stop Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Women Championship, AWC.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeated Equatorial Guinea 4-2 in the final game of the 7th edition of Africa Woman Championship held in South Africa in 2010.

And, the Nigerian team began their 2012 AWC campaign on a winning note, as they defeated Cameroon 2-1 in yesterday’s opening match.

Hamilton believes that with the caliber of players in the squad, the seven time Africa champions will retain the title they won two years ago in South Africa.

The proprietor of Weekend Academy of Lagos said not even the hosts, Equatorial Guinea can eliminate Nigeria from the tournament.

“We have a formidable team and I believe that our girls are eager to retain the cup back to back. The present Falcons are a mix of young and experienced players, who will give Nigeria an edge over other teams,” he said.

Hamilton, who was hired as head coach of the Nigeria national football team in 1989 but was fired after the team failed to qualify for the 1990 FIFA World Cup, said the preparation of the team was satisfactory during their camping in Ghana.

“Like I always said, the Falcons have what it takes to go far in the tournament.

“Coach Kadiri Ikhana is doing well for now and if Falcons fail to go beyond the group stage, it will be a huge disappointment to Nigerians back home,” Hamilton said.
