Construction of exhibition halls and shops have picked up at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), the venue of the 26th Lagos International Trade Fair.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the fair, which begins on 2 November and ends on 11 November, will hold at the main ground of TBS, the cricket pitch and Club Arcade.

This year’s fair will not hold at the usual trade fair site on the Apapa-Badagry expressway.
The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), organiser of the fair, said that the change of venue was due to the ongoing expansion of the expressway.

Mr Rotimi Olaleye, the Manager of R.S.K Olaleye and Sons Enterprises, one of the engineers building the pavilions, told NAN that exhibitors paid fixed amount per square metre to erect their exhibition halls.
Olaleye said that exhibitors within the main ground paid N4, 000 per square metre, while those outside the main ground paid N5,000.

Mr Michael Amoo, the Chairman, Marketing and Publicity Committee of the LCCI, said that the “focus centre” would be within the cricket pitch.

Amoo said that there would also be a press centre at the TBS Complex.
