Handsworth’s Hammer Falls On Two Players

The management of Handsworth Football Club of Sango- Otta, Ogun State, says it would punish Tunde Taiwo and Abiodun Aderogba for breaking the rules and regulations of the club.

Both players, according to the club, left the club recently to take part in the trial of professional club, Remo United Football in Ogun State without permission from the management. The attitude of the players, a club official says is punishable under the club’s rules and regulations.

Chairman of the club, Tajudeen Olasunkanmi described the behavior of his two players as unprofessional and unacceptable to the club.

“The management was embarrassed when we got the information that two of our boys are undergoing trials at Remo United for without our knowledge. I urge professional clubs in this country not to do anything with the players concerned. Any club that signs them will be dragged to the Nigeria National League Board for breach of contract,” the club chairman said.

Also, Chief Coach of the club, Godwin Emogbe disclosed that the management has reported the case to the officials of Ogun State Football Association.

“Both players were duly registered by our club and  their licenses are with us. I expect Remo United to get in touch with us before they sign the two players. And, they know that  failure to do so, we will take the matter to the Nigeria National League Board,” he warned.

Meanwhile, Handsworth FC  will face Shooting Stars of Ibadan in a warm up match at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.  this evening.

The friendly is part of preparation for 3SC ahead of new League season which begins 1 December.
