Man Arraigned For Stealing Rice, Oil

A 37-year old man,  Muyidin Abiodun,  has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s court, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, for stealing two bags of rice and three gallons of vegetable oil.

Muyidin along with others now at large were alleged to have stolen the items valued at N40,000 belonging to one Faith Sunday of 19 Majolete Street, Illupeju, Lagos.

In the two-count charge against the defendant, Police prosecutor, Samson Ekikere told the court that Muyidin’s offence contravened section 409 of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2011.

When the charge was read to him, Muyidin pleaded guilty.

The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs.Taiwo Akanin ordered that he be remanded in prison.

She adjourned the case to 27 November, 2012 when the accused will be sentenced.
