Whenever Mercedes-Benz launches a new car it’s a safe bet that German tuning outfit Brabus will soon release several upgrade parts. That continues to be the case with the 2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class, for which Brabus announced a host of new parts.The car doesn’t actually differ all that much from the A250 Sport on which it is based. Brabus seems to have focused on developing styling upgrades for the 2013 A-Class rather than offering an entire high-performance model. That makes sense, given that Mercedes’ own AMG already offers a hotted-up A45 AMG with at least 295 lb-ft of torque. On the outside, the Brabus transformation begins with a new front lip that has supposedly been wind tunnel-tested to reduce lift at speed. On the back, a new lower fascia fake air vents plus an insert mimics the look of an aerodynamic diffuser, and also provides space for the four outlets of the new Brabus sports exhaust. The company says the new exhaust is louder and sportier, without having an “obtrusive” note that would annoy drivers and passengers. New Brabus springs are designed to pair with the upsized alloy wheels, and improve handling while also lowering the car by 0.98 inch. Interior changes are far from dramatic. Brabus adds stainless-steel door-sill plates with an illuminated logo, sporty anodized pedals, and anodized door-lock pins. The seats can be reupholstered in the buyer’s choice of new Mastik leather and Alcantara materials. Of course, Mercedes-Benz A-Class owners can pick and choose individual Brabus components to spice up their rides. While the overall transformation shown here isn’t that dramatic, Brabus parts always provide a quality way for Mercedes owners to inject some extra style into their car.
