NGO Partners Ejigbo Council On LIbrary Project
As part of efforts to inculcate reading culture in residents of Ejigbo and in particular children,a Non-Government Organisation, based in the United States of America, Hope and Dreams Initiative has entered into partnership with Ejigbo Local Council Development Area to build a library.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding for the building of the library and other educational initiatives designed by both the NGO and the council took place at the council secretariat,on Wednesday,during the presentation of prizes to pupils of public primary schools in the council area,who participated in an essay competition organized for them by the NGO and the council. The council chairman,Kehinde Bamigbetan signed the MOU on behalf of the council,while the chief executive officer of the NGO,Mrs Nguzo Onovo signed on behalf of her organization.
Mrs Onovo,at the occasion stated that when she met Bamigbetan,the council chairman spoke passionately about his desire to secure a brighter future for children in the council area,by providing qualitative primary education for them.She added that this passion exhibited by the chairman made her to open the window of collaboration between her NGO and the local government towards improving the standard of education for the children.
The NGO boss,who is a Nigerian-based in the USA explained that her organization was set up to develop reading culture among children all over the world and she hoped to provide a solid foundation for the actualization of this objective.
