The players were on target as they painted Europe red with avalanche of goals. Ike Uche, top scorer in the Nations Cup qualifiers scored a brace for his Spanish club, Villarreal as they walloped Racing Santander 3-0.

CSKA Moscow and former youth international, Ahmed Musa also recorded his eighth goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Amkar Perm.

Levante Football Club of Spain striker, Obafemi Martins, who fired blank in Nigeria’s 3-1 drubbing of Venezuela in an international friendly played in Miami, Florida, USA last Thursday, was on the scorer’s sheet as his team defeated Deportivo La Coruna 2-0.

West Bromwich Albion of England and former Lille of France striker, Osaze Odemwingie was also on song as he helped his club stunned reigning UEFA Champions League champions, Chelsea, that have two of his compatriots, John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses on their pay role.

Hull City attacking winger, Sone Aluko, who is yet to feature for the Eagles under Keshi, scored his eight goal of the season as his team recorded a 3-2 away victory against Birmingham City in the English Championship.

Aluko, however stated his readiness to play for the national team again, saying “it’s one of those things where if it comes, it comes. I’d be happy and I’d go because everyone wants to represent his country. But no one has a right to play and no one can demand to play. If the call doesn’t come then I’ll carry on playing here and doing what I can do. Club football is your bread and butter and that’s the most important thing for me at this time.”
