Former Super Falcons coach,Uche Eucharia has declared if she were to take the senior female national team to the African Women Championship, AWC in Equatorial Guinea, they would have won something for Nigeria.

The Falcons, under Kadiri Ikhana did not defend the title they won two years ago in South Africa, losing two times on the bounce in the semi-finals and the third place to South Africa and Cameroon respectively.

Uche coached Nigeria to win the competition in 2010, but was sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF after the Falcons failed to qualify for both the All African Games and the 2012 London Olympics. But the coach claims she would have done better, if she were still in charge.

“Only God knows what could have happened if I were in charge. But I’m sure we could have settled for something better,” Uche claimed.

Uche said that it was very disappointing the way Nigeria got bundled out of the competition.

“It was sad that we have to go out the way we did. It shows that other African countries have caught up with us and we must be making the right decision to stay at the top,” Uche said.
