Interswitch Rewards Verve Card Users

In a bid to improve the cashless initiative embarked upon by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Interswitch, has kicked off a promo to encourage more Nigerians to use electronic cards as a preferred means of doing business.

The electronic transaction company says it is rewarding Verve card holders in the third edition of the Verve National Consumer promo tagged “Verve Double Offer Promo”.

According to the company, a card holder becomes a potential winner in the draws if  he or she makes three or more transactions on their Verve card via the ATM weekly or a minimum of N10,000 on the PoS terminal, web or log on www.quickteller.com.

This qualifies card holders for a chance to win prizes such as BlackBerry phones, ipads, home theatre appliances, LED television sets and washing machines in the bi-weekly draws.

However, for cardholders to win the monthly draws, they will have to initiate 10 or more transactions on the ATM monthly or transaction of a minimum of N40,000 on the PoS, web or on www.quickteller.com. They stand a chance to win grand prizes of two Nissan Almera cars in the monthly draws.

Twenty banks will be participating in the Verve promo, which runs from 1 November  to 27 December, 2012. The banks are Ecobank, Enterprise Bank, First City Monumental Bank, Fidelity Bank and First Bank.

Others are Access Bank, Keystone Bank, Mainstreet Bank, Skye Bank, Stanbic IBTC, Sterling Bank, United Bank for Africa, Union Bank, Unity Bank, Wema Bank and Zenith Bank etc.

Verve card offers payment convenience to cardholders across payment channels such as ATMs, PoS terminals, internet, mobile phones and kiosks. The security and Europay, MasterCard and Visa features embedded in the Verve card, guarantees a higher level of security for payment transactions.

According to Director, Switching and Processing, Akeem Lawal, the Verve promo has become necessary as a means of encouraging card usage and pick-up by rewarding existing and new cardholders respectively. “This promo is in line with CBN initiative and we also want to reward our customers for doing transactions with their cards because these takes us closer to the cashless society we sought,” he said.
