Bisiriyu Promises Lagos 11 Gold Medals

Wasiu Bisiriyu, the Head Coach of Lagos State Amateur Boxing Association, says  his team are good enough to win 11 gold medals at the Sports Festival.

The coach said this in Lagos in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the 36th edition of the monthly ‘Saturday Boxing Show’, preparatory to the sports festival.

“The Saturday Boxing Show has been the strength of my boxers because it offered them monthly training and has also helped the boxers to be in good shape for the festival.

“We have selected the best of our boxers who I am confident will surpass our previous records at the 2011 Games in Port Harcourt,” Bisiriyu said.

He stressed that the boxing show had been the training ground for the boxers, adding that it had prepared them well for the biennial fiesta.

The head coach promised that the team would surpass the seven gold, a silver and two bronze medals won at the 2011 sports festival in Port Harcourt.

“I am confident that my team will win 11 out of the 20 medals at stake at the festival.”
