Justice Oyewole moves to Osun state judiciary

Henry Ojelu& Abdul Olamide

Renowned Lagos state Judge, Justice Olubunmi Oyewole has transferred his service to the Osun State Judiciary.

Justice Oyewole is well known for his sound and courageous judgments which saw the likes of Chief Bode George, 419 kingpin Francis Nwude and many others thrown into jail.

It was the judge that also sentenced the infamous Chukwuemeka Ezeuko a.k.a Reverend King to death over the murder of a female member of his church.

Justice Oyewole who hails from Ila-Orangun in Osun State was recently nominated by Governor Rauf Aregbesola to the Nigerian Judicial Council, NJC as the Chief Judge of Osun state.

The nomination was however turned down by NJC on the ground that he was not a serving judge in the state and also not the most senior judge in the state judiciary.

With his transfer, Justice Oyewole becomes the second most senior judge in Osun State and may eventually become the Chief Judge of the state.

He is due to formally resume on 4 December, 2012.
