PAN Donates Ambulance To FRSC

In fulfillment of its corporate social responsibility, PAN Nigeria Limited has donated a brand new ambulance to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Kaduna.

During the event at the premises of the company, Acting Managing Director of PAN, Mr. Jaime Pena said the company is very passionate about reducing the loss of lives as a result of road accident in the country, adding that “saving lives is very important to the company, more so when our business has to do with the production and manufacture of vehicles”.

The Managing Director pledged to continue to assist the FRSC with the limited resources of the company as a strong stakeholder in the nation’s automobile sector. Receiving the keys of the new ambulance, a joyful Mr. Olumide Mike Olagunju, the Kaduna State sector commander who led a delegation from the FRSC said PAN’s gesture could not have come at a better time.

“The United Nations (UN) have asked member nations to dedicate 2011 to 2020 as a decade of action on road safety, in which all member nations are expected to play a strong role towards reducing auto crashes in the world.

“Your ambulance donation today is a key towards actualizing UN’s objective of drastically reducing crashes on our roads,” the sector commander added.

“Your decision to donate this ambulance is not only generous, it is also in line with humanity. The lives this donation will save cannot be quantified,” he said.

Also speaking, the Unit Commander of Kakau the primary beneficiary of the donation, Mr. Ademola Obafemi, poured encomiums on PAN for the donation.

“We were having challenges about how to respond promptly to accident victims and we came to PAN to be rescued and within a week our request was granted.

“I thank God that this donation came to Kakau unit during my tenure as the commander,” he said pointing out that the “areas or coverage of the ambulance is the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
