Terry G Still Wanted By The Police After Auto Acident
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ngozi Braide, has confirmed that the police is still searching for controversial singer, Gabriel Oche-Amanyi, better known as Terry G, over a hit-and-run case.
Terry G, whose wife was delivered of a baby boy few weeks ago, is said to have absconded after he hit Moshood Azeez with his car, crushing his leg. The singer was coming from Club Royale, Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, when the accident occurred.
The PPRO confirmed the incident to Entertainment Cafe yesterday, noting that the accident actually happened about a month ago. She said when her men called Terry G on phone; he told them that he was in Benin. He is yet to honour the invitation.
“That is why we are yet to arrest him. We have also searched his house somewhere in Agege, but we did not see him, up till now. I’m not a doctor and can’t tell you the gravity of the injury sustained by the victim, but I’m aware he was rushed to the hospital,” Braide said.
A witness claimed that Terry G drove recklessly out of the club’s premises late in the night when he crushed the leg of Azeez, who was also at the club to have fun. But since the singer didn’t stop, his victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Ikeja by sympathisers. The case was later reported at the MAN Centre Police Station, Wemabod Estate, Ikeja.
Terry G’s Media Manager, Alex Ozone, while speaking with Entertainment Cafe on Wednesday, debunked the allegation that the Benue State-born entertainer is on the run. He described the case as a minor issue which bloggers are trying to exaggerate in a bid to drive traffic to their blogs sites.
“He is not wanted by the Police. It was a minor accident but some people just want to make news out of it. He mistakenly hit the guy in question, but they sorted it out that night. He even gave the guy some money for treatment. Terry G travelled to Enugu this morning (Wednesday) for a private show,” Ozone said.
