Floodlight Failure Stalls Penalty Shootouts

Team Cross River had to wait till this morning to know their final opponents, after the second semi-final match of the male football event of the 18th National Sports Festival between Lagos State and Kwara State was postponed due to poor visibility on Thursday.

The tie, held yesterday evening was stopped at 2-2 but the referee had to postpone the game till today before the penalty kicks were played to decide who play Cross River that had earlier defeated Delta State 6-5 via penalty shootouts.

Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State and Team Lagos will go head-to-head in the final of the women’s football event of the Sports Festival on Saturday.
