My Movie Not On ‘Aluu 4’, Says Simony Films Boss, Obadiege
Sylvester Obadiege, CEO of Simony Films, has denied that the film he is currently shooting depicts the gruesome killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt, namely Ugonna Ibuzor, Tekena Elkanah, Llyod Michael and Chidiaka Biringa at Aluu village.
After some location pictures of the movie leaked on social media, the producer was criticised for shooting such a movie when wounds opened by the ugly incident were yet to heal. However, the producer has denied the speculation.
“The movie has not been released and you people (the media) have already jumped to conclusion. You shouldn’t conclude that my film is on Aluu 4 because you saw some location pictures. What I want you to do is to wait and let the movie come out first to be sure of the storyline,” Obadiege defended.
The leaked location pictures of the yet-to-be-titled movie shows four boys brutally beaten by cutlass-wielding members of a vigilance group, a development which ignited harsh reactions members of the public.
The killing of the undergraduates outraged Nigerians, just as international media outfits feasted on the story. Some Aluu residents were arrested in connection with the crime and have already gone on trial.
