Winner of two gold medal for Bayelsa State in the 146kg Clean and Jerk weightlifting event of the just concluded, David Adeyemo, has stated his readiness to represent the National Weightlifting team whenever he is called up.
Adeyemo made his intention known at the Brai Ayonote Boxing gymnasium, venue of the weightlifting event adding that he has what it takes to justify his eventual invitation by winning a medal at either the Olympics or the All African Games.
The Ekiti State-born athlete said those that are in the national weightlifting team are not better than him, “Those in the national weightlifting team are not superhuman beings so I deserve a place there too”.
He described his two gold medals feat to favour from God and hard work but however feels he can do more if he eventual gets the call up.
“Weightlifting is the sport that I had always loved to do, so I would like to help win medals for Nigeria, with God I know I can”.
