400 Orphans Storm Campos For Charity Cup

At least 400 children from different Ophanage Homes in Lagos will storm the Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos Island on Sunday for this year’s  KidSport Charity Cup.

The tournament is a dynamic festival packaged to provide a safe atmosphere of fun and fair play for the orphans at Christmas period.

The one day sports fiesta is facilitated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, headed by Prince Wale Oladunjoye and supported by Flour Mills of Nigeria and Nigeria Bottling Company.

Coordinator of the event, Bukola Alabi Edem said that the championship is a charity soccer tourney, which will be held to raise funds for the training and care of children from different Orphanages in Lagos State.

And, to add flare to it; Orphanages will have their registered teams play against each other for the ultimate goal of winning and taking home many prizes.

“We are expecting at least 400 children at the stadium who will be team members and supporters from the orphanages. Sunday will be a fun-filled for the children,” said Edem.

The following teams have signified their intention to feature in the competition; the teams are Team SOS Children, Isolo and Owu, Team Habitation of Hope, Team Citadel of Grace, Team Project Friendship Initiative, Team Keep our kids off the street, Team Street child welfare and care as well as Team Arrows of God.

The winners of the last edition were Team Jakande Project.
