Slam Drops New Single, Video

Slam has quashed rumours that he has quit music by releasing a new single, Oya Na. The new single is part of a two-part album to be released next year. The video of the single was released last week and has been aired on television stations across Nigeria.

The light-skinned singer is optimistic that his new offering will appeal to everyone because of the dancehall elements in the single. “This single is not just for the youth, but for everyone. Although it is high tempo, it has every ingredient of a good song. I have been working in the background for a long time and this work will prove that,” he said.

Slam claims that he has decided to have a second career in Public Relations with Quadrant Company. “I studied Marketing for my Master’s in London and I need to practice. That was what informed my decision to become a PR consultant and I have not regretted that decision,” he stated.

While in London, Slam also studied sound engineering, vocal training and attended dance classes. Today, he has produced soundtracks for many Nigerian home videos. He has also set up his own entertainment company, Slam Entertainment. “In years to come I will be a man to reckon with on many fronts because if music does not work, you must have a Plan B,” he explained.

Slam is expected to work Tuface Idibia on his next single. He described Tuface as a very humble colleague. “I don’t know how he has managed to remain humble despite all the wealth and fame. He is a model for every musician,” he said.
