Basketball: Swingman Camp Ends In Lagos

After three days of training and passing of instruction to youngsters, the 3rd edition of Swingman Basketball Camp will come to an end tomorrow at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

Bamidele Olowosagba reports that the annual basketball vacation clinic that debuted in 2010 is organised for pupils to hone their basketball skills in the slam and dunk sport.

Checks at the camp revealed that over 80 kids are undergoing training on the rudiments of the game by experienced coaches.

Initiator of the programme Taye Adeniyi Mash, a former Nigerian female basketball player, said that the objective of the camp is to nurture the next generation of stars that can represent the country in the near future.

Also, a former Nigerian international, Sola Ogunade Shomala, who is a joint coordinator of the vacation camp added that dignitaries such as Prince Wale Oladunjoye, Faniran Abimbola, Funmi Ohone, and Oyebode Oluseyi of Greensprings School, Anthony are expected to grace the grand finale.
