Skales, whose initial skill was rap, said his album won’t have him singing all through. “It’s going to be both. I’m going to have songs where I would just sing and rap in others. At the end of the day, I would be bringing something new to the table,” said Skales.

Despite the success of his two singles Mukulu and Komole, many of Skales’ early fans are still not convinced that singing is his strength.

Skales understands this and believes it is all part of the process you go through in convincing people. “Of course, it is just normal for people to misunderstand you until you prove them wrong. But a lot of people are beginning to believe in my new strength. That’s how it is,” the singer said.

Skales signed to EME in 2009 and is almost through with his debut album scheduled to drop before the end of second quarter of the year.
