Musa, who plays professional football for CSKA Moscow of Russia, painted his hair with inviting purple and light brown colours shortly after Coach Stephen Keshi included him in the final 23-man squad that will represent the country at this year’s AFCON.

Musa stands out among the Eagles stars who have started creating images that will be seen of them in South Africa.

A very shy Musa said Nigeria deserves the AFCON trophy, and he is ready to go the extra mile to ensure that the Eagles bring the cup home.

“My present hairstyle came as a surprise to everybody here at our Faro camp. Even, Coach Stephen Keshi was dazed when he saw me and asked; ‘Ahmed! You too? So, you have joined the league of hair-crazy players in camp’. However, I did not do it just for the sake of fashion, the hairstyle is to ginger me to do well for Nigeria at the Nations Cup,” Musa said.

Eagles’ Media Officer, Ben Alaiya said nearly all the players in camp have suddenly rolled out trendy and colourful boots to show their readiness to feature in the championship.

Alaiya informed that the players in camp and officials of the team snapped photographs with Musa, and urged the youngster to score for Nigeria during the continental football fiesta.

“Musa told everyone in Faro that, it will be the hairstyle he will wear for the Nations Cup, thus effectively setting the tone for the SA 2013 hair-waves,” Alaiya said.

Usually, many players from different countries showcase stunning hairstyles and tattoos during international tournaments, and Musa is just one of such stars expected to light up the 2013 AFCON, which begins next weekend.
