Jonathan sends two nominees for ministership

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has forwarded two ministerial nominees to the senate for confirmation.The nominees are Kabiru Turaki from Kebbi state and Prof Chinedu Nebo from Enugu state.

In a letter to the Senate President Senator David Mark, President Jonathan explained that the confirmation of the two nominees became necessary in order to fill the vacancies that exist in the Federal Executive council.

The nominee, Kabiru Turaki is to replace the vacancy created with the exit of the former Defence Minister, Muhammed Haliru Bello from Kebbi state while Prof Chinedu Nebo is expected to replace the former minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji from Enugu who resigned from the cabinet last year.

The senate is yet to fix a date for their screening and confirmation.
