Tattoo: What Does Okotie Make Of Leviticus 19: 28?

It is difficult to keep Nigeria’s Pastor Chris Okotie out of the headlines. The ex-pop star,  ex-presidential candidate, ex-husband and sometime author is a headline machine.

Less than a week after announcing that he was through with marriage –after two failed experiments– the flamboyant preacher got right back in the news with his claim that cosmetic surgery and tattooing the body do not constitute sins.
Okotie’s endorsment of cosmetic surgery and tattoos was announced during His Household of God church service on 13 January. Since we do not have much expertise in scriptural matters, we are unwilling to come out to say the pastor was wrong. Even then, we will be happy to know what he makes of the Bible verse Leviticus 19:28, which says: “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the Lord.”
