Defending champion and world number one Victoria Azarenka ended the dream run of American teen Sloane Stephens at the Australian Open Thursday to book a place in the final against China’s Li Na.
Azarenka, who will retain top spot on the rankings if she defends her title at Melbourne Park, let slip five match points before defeating Stephens 6-1, 6-4 in 1hr 41min to move into Saturday’s final against Li.
