Al -Makura sacks cabinet

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of the Nigerian central state of Nasarawa has sacked his entire cabinet, according to a statement.

The statement, issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Iliyasu Ali-Yakubu, on Monday, did not give any reason for the action.

It said the governor thanked members of the dissolved cabinet for their “immeasurable contribution” to the development of the state and wished them the very best in their future endeavours.

The governor directed them to hand over the affairs of their ministries and departments to the most senior officer or Permanent Secretaries.
